Renting a Porta Potty for a Graduation Party
Graduation parties are the busiest rental weekends of the year. Here is how to get the count, the timing and the spot right.

How many porta potties does a graduation party need?
A graduation party of up to 50 guests over 5 hours needs 1 standard porta potty. A party of 100 needs 2. Open houses where guests come and go use units less than a sit-down party, but beer and long afternoons push the count up. Add 1 unit per 100 guests when alcohol is served.
Run your numbers in the porta potty calculator.
When should you book for a June party?
Book a graduation party porta potty two to three weeks ahead. Saturdays in June fill first because every high school and college graduates within a few weeks. Booking early also avoids rush fees. If Saturday delivery is full, a Friday drop with Monday pickup works the same for you.
Which unit should you pick for a graduation party?
Pick standard units for most graduation parties, and add a flushing unit with a sink when grandparents and dressed-up guests will attend. A handwashing station next to the food table helps when guests eat with their hands. For a large crowd, put one wheelchair-accessible unit at the end of the row.
Compare every unit side by side.
Where should the unit go in the yard?
Put the unit at the edge of the yard near the driveway, 20 to 50 feet from the food, with the door facing away from the tables. Keep it on level ground. If the party runs after dark, hang a string light nearby.
Keep planning: book party units, count units for your guests, or upgrade to a flushing unit with a sink.
Questions renters ask
Can I split one rental between two family parties on the same weekend?
One unit can serve two parties at the same address on the same weekend. If the second party is at a different address, the unit has to be moved by our truck, which counts as a second delivery.
