Who approves work in a City of Newburgh street?
City of Newburgh Engineering, on the first floor of City Hall at 83 Broadway, oversees public works specifications. Street openings are overseen by the plumbing inspector in Code Compliance at 123 Grand Street. For a unit that must sit on a city street, start with Engineering and ask which approval fits.
- The Town of Newburgh is a separate government with its own offices.
- A unit in a rear yard or private lot usually needs no city approval.
- Keep units clear of hydrants and bus stops.

Where does a unit go at an East End row house rehab?
Newburgh's East End is packed with 19th-century brick row houses that share walls and have small rear yards. Many rehabs have no driveway. The unit often goes in a rear yard reached from an alley, or at the curb with city approval.
- Measure the alley width before delivery day.
- Avoid placing a unit on old slate sidewalks.
- Weekly service visits need the same access as delivery.
What do Newburgh waterfront events need?
Waterfront events near Front Street draw crowds where restaurant restrooms fill fast. Units near the entrance and near food tents cut lines. The slope down to the river is steep, so units should go on flat, paved ground near the lower lots.
- Get the event approved by the city or the property owner first.
- Add handwashing stations near any food vendors.
- Weekend events get a Friday drop and Monday pickup.

Newburgh porta potty questions
Is my address in the City or the Town of Newburgh?
The City of Newburgh and the Town of Newburgh are separate governments with different offices. The city covers the older riverfront core. The town surrounds it to the north and west. Check your tax bill or call the city at 83 Broadway if you are unsure.
Can you deliver to a Newburgh house with only alley access?
Alley access works if our truck can fit and get within about 25 feet of the unit. Some Newburgh alleys are too narrow or have low wires. Send photos or a street view link, and we will tell you before delivery day.
Do you serve Stewart Airport area job sites?
We serve commercial and warehouse sites around Stewart Airport in New Windsor and the Town of Newburgh. Large sites often need several units plus handwashing stations. Tell us the gate and the site contact so the driver can get in.
How do I keep a unit safe on a busy Newburgh block?
Place the unit where it is visible from the house or job trailer. Each standard unit has a lock, so crews can lock it after hours. If a unit is damaged, the quote lists damage as its own charge, so you know the terms in advance.
